Unbelievable

2008 has come in like a lion bringing a blizzard on her heels that has created quite a stir in our little mountain-top community. Even though we are frequented with wild weather, the old timers say "we haven't had this much snow in our parts in ten years". The road was drifted closed today except to snowmobiles and those with super swamper tires. Even still, the seasoned mountain dwellers didn't make it out.

Out the door we scurried on the wings of adventure hoping to taste a piece of the excitement. We were not disappointed! We hopped on our snowmobile, juiced the engine and away we went. Just down the road neighbor D. was digging out his vehicle in hopes of returning to work in the morning. We offered to help but he said he was just out enjoying the wildness, too. Not far down the road we ran into the D. family who were out exploring and checking the road situation. New friend D. was at her driveway watching the excitement when Mr. Seasoned Super Swamper drove up. He said he just couldn't sit at home when he could be "out in it".

I'm thankful for our little mountain-top community and that wildness brings camaraderie.

School Bus Stop Ahead- but not today

Buried!

So thankful for our trusty snowplow. At least it's not buried!

Looks like we need to shovel the walk
